Strip Condition
G Man
Great flying this morning. Trev, Bob, Danny and I had a great time.
Light breeze, light cloud/sunny conditions. Strip quite good considering rain on Sunday evening.
G Man
Great day flying. Strip not too bad despite wet weather. Light breeze.
Byron
Amazingly with the rain over the past few days, the strip is in great condition. No sitting water, still some softer patches but all over pretty good.
G Man
Visited field today for a bit of a look. Was looking great, some dry patches starting to appear due to the sunny and warm conditions over the last few days. But,.......... just as I went to type this it started to rain!! Oh well, hope we get some more dry weather between now and the weekend.
G Man
What a great day. Sunny, light breeze, good company. Still a bit wet but large models coped. Well worth the visit.
Andrew
Strip drying up nicely, calm morning, windy periods. (live from the field)
G Man
Very windy and cold! Strip seems to be drying up a bit but still a bit wet in the low spots.
Andrew

johno
What a great day - hope tomorrow ( Sunday ) is as good !
G Man
Great days flying. Slight breeze from south, short grass, strip dying out quite well. Will be fantastic after a few more dry days.
Trev
good cross wind today hope to be better tomorrow
G Man
Visited strip today to measure up for hardware for new pilot area with Clyde. Strip quite wet in parts and boggy. Some dry sections but a fair amount of ground water. Observed someone run up entire strip twice before they could actually lift off due to excessive water. Was an experienced flyer to boot!!
Byron
Can safely put today into the diary as a building day not a flying day
Jeremy
One word for today - Fan-Friggin-Tastic!!
G Man
Fantastic conditions.
Byron
Strip is mowed and ready for action
G Man
Visited the strip but too gusty and strip a bit boggy. Evidence of where the thief drove up to the temporary pilots compound and loaded gear located.
Trev
wet strip getting windy
Nic Lucas
The field must have had over a foot of rain because it's just puddles today. Terrible for flying but great for getting the grass cover established and topsoil spread.
Nic Lucas
Choppy wind. Field looking good but bumpy due to hard ground with tufts of grass and weeds. Hence the topsoil a few of us are spreading between flights - to give the grass something to grow in. Feel free to spread a bit around yourself (bring a shovel and rake next time you fly) to get our field smooth as. Thanks to Byron for mowing and rolling.
G Man
Good weather. Slight breeze from north. Strip ok but already needs a good mow and tidy up around pit area.
G Man
Wet, wet, wet. And wet. A lot of ground water but light breeze from north. Great day for seaplanes and ducks.
Byron
Beautiful day for flying
Nic Lucas
Grass beautifully shawn - thanks Byron. Needs some topsoil in places, hope to get and spread some soon -Committee permitting.
G Man
Strip mowed this morning. Light breeze, hot and cloudy. Should be great for next couple of weeks.
G Man
Hot with light breeze. Ideal. Long grass causing nuisance. Add another 6 inches to the grass box.
Trev
Great flying but strip needs a mow
Nic Lucas
Soggy ++ in places but otherwise perfect flying conditions this morning.
Trev

Byron
Strip has been mowed 2 days ago and is looking good after recent rain and sun.
Byron
Another great day for flying as this whole week has pretty much been. The strip is freshly mowed so enjoy as much as you can. Wind started to pick up before an arvo storm... Ah summer is upon us
Byron
Another great day... So long as you don't mind tying yourself to the fence so you don't blow away.
With the recent rain hopefully the strip will grow a bit and get a nice cut
Byron
Plenty of new top soil thanks to huge winds. Not much point heading up when is this windy though
Clyde
Strip has had a hair cut.
brennanj2
Great flying today. Absolutely no wing and nice air.
The ground is a little wet but perfectly usable.
Some nice flying by some of the models.
John
Byron
Please don't let this be the last perfect day before it gets too chilli to hang onto the sticks.
G Man
Wet and wild. Strip flyable but southerly came in about 10am. Became very gusty and uncomfortable. I have never seen people pack up so quickly before.....:-)
Clyde
strip mowed beautiful day
Byron
FANTASTIC.
Wind was a lovely very light breeze enabling take offs and landings from either direction. Few early low lying clouds made for a little bit of fun earlier in the morning but they soon dissipated and presented an awesome sky to fly in.
Grass has been freshly mowed and the strip is getting grass growing up through the new area and the graded part infront of the pilots area already.
Clyde
No breeze,a bit dusty, not too hot.Strip has been mowed.
G Man
Not too bad. Slight breeze. Gusts later in morning. Strip quite good and signs of grass starting to grow in graded area.
Peter
Muddy and wet, suitable for ducks only

So I just put long.

Nic Lucas
Another good day.
G Man
Overcast gray sky with slight gusts. Strip looking good. New cleared area is an absolute bonus for all fliers.
Byron
This afternoon was a little windy, NE at 30 KPH to be more descriptive so I went slope soaring instead.
Awesome fun with your pants on
Clyde
Beautiful morning! Strip is looking most attractive after a hair cut.
G Man
Few people flying in gusty but flyable winds, strip looking better since southern area cleared.
Good potential for improved take off and landing capabilities
Clyde
Beautiful afternoon, no wind, the strip is all dried out and freshly mowed.
Byron
What a great day for a fly, weather was perfect, grass is already started to get a bit long already with all the rain and sun throughout the week.
Field itself is a bit wet but I don't think it will take long to dry out.
G Man
Great flying conditions on Saturday. Only a handful enjoying the conditions including a one of our scaled friends (Byron thinks a Marsh Snake). Good time to warn everyone to keep a look out for snakes. The one mentioned above was seen checking out the planes in the pit area much to Clydes surprise. As it wasn't a member it was asked to leave.
G Man
Best day weather wise for some time. No wind, sunny and short grass. What more can you ask for. Only 6 people flying? Enjoy it while the weather holds out.
Nic Lucas
A great day with lots of different airiplanes and helicopterisers. Also a number of new members getting tuition from instructers with good results. Plus a female learner!
G Man
Turned out to be a good mornings flying when the rain stopped and clouds cleared. Blue sky with light cloud. Little to no wind-from the south. Strip freshly mowed and looking quite good.

brennanj2
Nice day but too windy to fly most models
Nic Lucas
Don't know about today but yesterday was brilliant - rained everywhere else but Moss Field! Quite a few turned up. Very nice.
Trev

Trev
Hope it is better tomorrow
Nic Lucas
Gusty westerlies today making it too dangerous for all but the most confident flyers.
Brad
Good flying weather in the morning, gusty wind as the day progressed
brennanj2
Calm in the early morning slight gusting wind as the day progressed.
Good flying weather.
No thermals
David
REALLY VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone has completely cut the strip up with a 4 wheel drive, you can see where they have entered and exited at the same point (near the tree on the out side near the road)
It had to have been done on Tueday afternoon as Tony and my self where there in the morning until 9.30/10.00am
G Man
Not a bad days flying. Weather quite favorable with light breeze from south.
Nic Lucas
I didn't actually go today but I'm sure Trev, Paul and Byron will agree that it was a good day to fly their flying boats and floatplanes up there. Well done guys!
Nic Lucas
Looks like it's set in boys!
Byron
Turned out to be quite a nice morning
Nic Lucas
The field and conditions would have to be the best we have seen for eons. Grass beautifully just cut, no wind, about 18C temp and sun shining! Shame I forget my plane.
Byron
Great morning and the wind is nice and constant from the north. As I left the wind was dropping off, with bad weather predicted for this arvo, up until then is a great time for a fly.
G Man
Not a bad lazy Sunday. Slight breeze some cloud coming in later in the morning. Strip still in good condition.
Clyde
sunny day and no breeze to speak of, field is drying out nicely.
Ideal for a fly after work.
brennanj2
A bit windy but flyable. Some thermals up high. Ground drying out nicely.
PhlatBatteryPete
Ideal Flying conditions. Gentle breeze and a few thermals, great for electrics and any hand launch model as ground remains a little soggy, but should be ideal by Saturday.
G Man
Visited field today and lots of water due to heavy rain on Saturday. Will need a few days to dry out a bit.
G Man
Couldn't have asked for a better day. Strip in excellent condition for the Airshow.
brennanj2
Due to all the work put in by every one associated with the display on 12 Apr the strip is now in tip top condition.
Weather forcaste is for fine weather tomorrow. Should be a great day.
Trev
Sunday made for great flying manage to progress from a trainer to a 1/5 scale hellcat with a 80cc motor, not bad for 1 week a G Man.
G Man
Great day flying. Warm, slight breeze and short grass. Dogfighting warbirds made for a good display.
Trev needs more time on the trainers.............
G Man
Strip looking good after working bee got their hands dirty. A few managed a fly after 10.30am and seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Byron
Fantastic weather and the strip is looking good.
brennanj2
Great flying day Saturday. Strip faily wet after the nights rain. Hand launch essential but great thermals and not too much wind. Wind increasing during the day.
brennanj2
Good flying in between showers. Clearing in the late morning early afternood. Ground still wet underfoot but drying. Clive advises that he will have the roller at the strip on friday provided the strip continues to dry.
brennanj2
Very windy gusting increasing in velosity in the afternoon. Just flyable in the morning. Plenty of water under foot but slowly drying out.
G Man
Visited the strip today. Rain over last 24hrs has added to the already soggy conditions. Large pools of water in pits and on strip. Great for the float fliers or maybe we start a model yacht club..............
brennanj2
Sunday Good flying day. Good turnup of flyers. Plenty of thermals in the morning.Increasing wind in the afternoon. Maintenance team have been hard at work. The strip has been mowed. Rutts are still evident but the strip is usable. Thanks team.
brennanj2
Saturday. No one at the strip. Badly cut up by Trail Bikes. Very wet.
Grass long. Not flyable for small models.
G Man
Checked the strip out today. Absolutely saturated and has been severely damaged by a motorcycle. This occurred on Sunday 17/2. President aware of damage. A lot of work will be required to fill up the many rivets now covering the entire strip.
G Man
With the recent rain even the ducks were having difficulty landing!! After the meeting Bob B had an old timer up flying but his take offs and landings were more suited to amphibians!!
WET WET WET
brennanj2
Flyable down low very windy over 100 feet
Byron
What a great day for flying, I was expecting to rock up and find no car parks until half way down the hill considering the weather we've been having, but no. Only a few of us up there enjoying the field at it's best.
Byron
Bloody beautiful, couple soft spots still so be careful with bigger aircraft, but apart from that, nice a short grass, great weather.
Byron
Rain sun rain sun rain sun
great for making the grass grow loong but too wet to mow.
Byron
Another good day for the ducks, the strip has puddles in the usual low areas, though this did not deter a few of us from having a great day and entertaining a few others that came up for a look around.
Byron
What a perfect day weather wise, where was everyone???
I had the BBQ cranking and a great days flying, grass is long after the rain sun rain sun of the week prior. But the wind was bugger all, sun was glowing bright from about 10 onwards
G Man
Great flying conditions with light wind from the north. Strip in good condition despite recent wet weather. If only this came 1 week ago.
Byron
Less than what you would call ideal...
Still didn't stop me test flying a trainer for the weekend though
Trev
Great mornings flying before the storms
G Man
Another great day. Little to no wind. Quite hot and the flies!! Remember to take your aeroguard.

Trev
Great conditions for flying today and looking good for the control line flying tomorrow.
Byron
Although the day started out great (sunny with a slight breeze) it didn't take too long before thewind started to pick up and blow in a hail storm by lunch time.
I still had a good mornings flying though
Byron
Overcast with a bit of wind but nothing that would wreck a good days flying
G Man
Report for Sat 29 and Sun 30/9.
Strip good. Sunny and warm. Moderate to gusty wind.
CARNAGE IN THE AIR AND ON THE GROUND.........
I lost count at 6 aircraft damaged over two days.
G Man
Quite good conditions overall. Good turnout with a variety of aircraft flying. Field looking good.
G Man
Great sunny condition with virtually no wind. Strip freshly mowed. Excellent conditions.
Byron
Brilliant weather this morning, the skies were a little bumpy but barely noticeable. The grass is getting to be a little longer so be careful if you have wheel spats or tail draggers that tip over easily
Byron
Today the weather started out looking a little rough but it fined up nicely for some great flying heading up to lunchtime.
Byron
Today turned out to be very nice weather, it started off a little overcast, but by the time I organised myself, the sun was out in force. The breeze was light, for the morning, however the grass is long. and it appears we have clumps of clover to contend with also.
Byron
Lovely sunny conditions with a slight breeze which I would class as bugger all. Good day for testing your elec planes out
Mitch
Byron tells me, that someone tells him that its sunny at the field today but theres a heck of a wind up there. Been a while since its been mowed so its safe to assume the grass is at a medium length by now too.
